TRTA is the voice for ALL public education retirees.
TRTA lobbies for us and monitors the legislature for proposals to protect and improve our retirement security and health care.
TRTA is working to secure a COLA in the current session.
DRTA keeps you informed of state and local happenings through emails, our Facebook page, and informative meetings.
DRTA local meetings present programs on topics of interest, provide the enjoyment of the solidarity and friendship of fellow retirees, and encourage volunteerism within DRTA and the community.
Your membership really does matter!
The new year brings very good news for members of TRTA as well as others, with the passage of HR 82, the Social Security Fairness Act, or elimination of WEP/GPO. This act, which had both parties in Congress working together, has finally come into its time. The latest Inside Line from Tim Lee, says that President Biden signed it into law on January 5, 2025. Great news for the new year. Details about how and when the benefits will be handled/distributed will be shared with us from Tim Lee and TRTA as they become available.

This bill has been a long time coming and shows us all that persistence pays off. Tim Lee thanks all members for their e-mail and calling endeavors. Things like this show us how that $35 dollars for membership dues does pay dividends. In the new year, TRTA will turn its focus toward the upcoming 89th Legislative Session.
