MEMBERSHIP UNITES ALL PUBLIC-SCHOOL RETIREES, INCREASING OUR IMPACT ON LEGISLATIVE ISSUES THAT CONCERN OUR DEFINED BENEFIT (PENSION) AND TRS CARE.  MEMBERSHIP GIVES US A COLLECTIVE VOICE.

• The TRS (Teacher Retirement System of Texas) is currently not actuarially sound under state statute.Texas Retired Teachers Association and the Dallas Retired Teachers Association will have opportunities to engage with our representatives during the 90th Legislative Session to share our needs and propose solutions.

 

• If our defined benefit is not actuarially sound, we cannot receive a Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA).

 

• Dallas Retired Teachers Association and Texas Retired Teachers Association membership is your way to communicate our priorities with legislators and candidates.
