DRTA Teacher Assistance Grants
“Supporting Public Education in Dallas ISD”

 

Grant Application Process for 2026-2027

 

Classroom Assistance Grants are awarded to Dallas ISD teachers who, on a daily basis, demonstrate commitment to public education and Dallas ISD children through the creation of innovative programs, events, or other learning platforms.

 

The Dallas Retired Teachers Association will award $1000 grants to four Dallas ISD school teachers for the 2026-2027 school year.   Applications can be submitted beginning Monday, August 24, 2026.  All applications must be received by 5:00 pm on Friday, October 16, 2026.  Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

 

Applicants may apply individually, as a group/team or as a school. If you apply as a group/team or as a school, please designate someone to lead your grant application process and serve as the contact person to receive any related correspondence from the Association.

 

Teacher Assistance Grant Eligibility:

1. Applicants must be Dallas ISD school teachers for the 2026-2027 school year.

2. All applications must include a letter of recommendation and a handwritten signature by the school principal expressing approval of the project.

How to Apply for a Grant:

1. Email dallasretiredteachers@gmail.com and request an application.

2. Complete and submit the application by U.S Mail to

3. The application and required documents must be received no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, October 16, 2026.

 

Grant Application Review:

The DRTA Grant Review Committee will review all grant applications competitively.

Notification of Grant Recipients:

The four grant recipients will be announced on Friday, November 13, 2026, via email. Recipients may be asked to participate in a survey or video after receiving the grant money. Also the recipients may be requested to extend an invitation to the DRTA Grant Committee to visit their Classrooms.
